Subrata Kumar Das, a writer, curator, and organizer, emigrated from Bangladesh to Canada in 2013. A member of the Writers’ Union of Canada and the Literary Translators’ Association of Canada, Das has contributed enormously to creating a bridge between Canadian Bengali writers and the Canadian mainstream writing community.

A recipient of the Nalanda Best Canadian Bengali Author Award in 2023 and the Gayatri GaMarsh Memorial Award in 2018, Das was shortlisted for the Best Canadian Immigrant Award in 2021.

Das has 31 books to his credit and a record of joining the Toronto International Festival of Authors (TIFA) for three years and leading teams there. He attended the first Canadian Literature Festival with a big team of Bengali writers. His Bengali books on Canadian literature (Kolkata, 2025; Dhaka, 2019) have been highly acclaimed.
