Jahan Syed (born in 1951) earned her Bachelor’s (honours) and Master’s degrees from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Now retired, she is a poet and writer. She has written poetry, short stories, essays, etc. Her notable works include the poetry collection ‘The Earth Sought Freedom That Day’ (2024), a collection of short stories ‘At the Call of the Unknown’ (2025), and the poetry collection ‘Crimson Sun’ (2026). Her writings have also been published in various newspapers and magazines.
