I’m Nastassia, a poet based in Ontario and originally from Jamaica. I’ve always loved words—the way they carry rhythm, emotion, and truth. I started writing poetry at 16, often in patois, using my dialect to stay connected to my roots and to express myself honestly and authentically.

Rooted in Jamaican culture and shaped by life in Canada, my writing explores love, identity, and the quiet intensity of human connection. I move between English and patois, using both to hold emotion, evoke memory, and speak truth. My work is deeply personal, reflecting on belonging and grounded in phenomenological experiences that shape and build character in a complex world.

Whether on paper or spoken aloud, my poetry carries rhythm, vulnerability, and a strong sense of voice grounded in lived experience and the stories that stay with us.
