Peta Gaye Nash

Peta-Gaye Nash is a multi-genre writer of short fiction, poetry, and children’s literature. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, and living in Ontario, she draws inspiration from the Caribbean, her mixed-race heritage, and the immigrant experience. Her short story collection, Told Ya (Tamarind Tree Books, 2024), explores themes of class, adversity, and resilience. The collection won the 2025 Independent Press Award for Short Fiction and placed third in the 2025 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. In 2022, she received the Mississauga Arts Award for Emerging Literary Art. Peta-Gaye is recognized for her vivid characters and insightful storytelling..
